Taking StoryPlace online

Since 1998, StoryPlace | Te Papa Pūrākau has consistently delivered an essential service for Te Papa families with museum related themes, through play, games, storytelling and song to a diverse range of backgrounds and communities, with programmes designed to support pathways (for 18th months to 5 years old) into lifelong museum-based learning.

With the continued uncertainty that Omicron delivers to our communities, a unanimous vote of support by the Te Papa Foundation Trustees was given to help fund a pilot programme delivering StoryPlace online.

Practically this programme will be delivered via Zoom or Facebook Live in the first instance and will make use of existing technology within the museum.  We are delighted to be supporting this essential service to our Te Papa families which aligns with our Learning & Education pillar.

The first online session will feature a Te Papa Press publication – The Nature Activity Book – by Rachel Haydon and Pippa Keel in May.

To register for your toddlers, please email:  StoryPlace@tepapa.govt.nz.

And if you would like to learn more about this programme and help the Foundation to continue supporting this online initiative, please contact Danielle (E: Danielle.genty-nott@tepapafoundation.org.nz or mobile 021 401 907
